    Merzbow

On Tuesday in the early morning the Elevate Festival 2010 ended. For five days international guests like Iara Lee, Béatrice Achaleke and Mike Bonanno were discussing some of the most important issues of our time and tried to find ways for everyone to work against the climate and economic crisis.

At the same time Elevate offered a wide range of electronic music, which inspired conscious listening. Big names like Robert Hood, Joy Orbison und Merzbow made music aside the mainstream and showed their desire for experiments.

Since then the music has faded, but the discussed problems remain and shouldn’t be forgotten. The numerous video interviews with artists and experts are a chance to dig even deeper into the topics and the video-roundups give an overview of all festival days.

Furthermore today at 23:35 CET the festival will be featured with a half-hour special in the ORF “Donnerstag Nacht”!

FM4 accompanied the five day programme and will play many live recordings in the next few days.

on3 (Bayerischer Rundfunk) reported about the Elevate Festival 2010, too.

Free Radio Helsinki from Graz reported and recorded more than 10 hours of live material.

    Numerous photos are available here.

Festival organizers Bernhard Steirer, Daniel Erlacher and Roland Oreski want to thank all the visitors, staff members, co-workers, media cooperations and sponsors and are looking forward to next year.
