the new literature part of elevate
This year sees Elevate festival present a new addition to its programme! Taking place at Dom im Berg, the experimental literature feature will blur the boarders between music and literature:
renowned german-speaking authors will be teaming up with innovative musicians to bring about a whole different experience of literature and live music performance, setting out to revive the experimental literary avantgarde of the 1950s and 1960s. The authors to perform at hörgeREDE festival walk the tightrope between art and society, constantly aiming at creating literature independent from the mainstream and predominating literary markets. The audience is invited to experience the unusual patterns of setting words into music and rewriting music with words, and thus discover yet unkown worlds of speech, sound and rhythm.
In other words: absolute tension and compression of verbal expression meets the complete dissolution of lyrical speech forms!
As a special part of the programme, the well-known Austrian author, journalist and FM4 radio presenter Fritz Ostermayer ventures out to experiment with a Hamburg-based producer Felix Kubin. The guest list also includes authors like Yoko Tawada, Oswald Egger and Lisa Spalt, and musicians like Otto von Schirach, Nik Bärtsch and Christof Dienz.
